To celebrate 150 years of striking gold sovereigns, the Perth Mint in Australia has gone through its vaults to find vintage sovereigns for the collectors of gold sovereigns today.

The Perth Mint sovereign shows Pistrucci’s neoclassical masterpiece St. George and the Dragon.

The Anniversary Gold sovereign is presented on a textured backboard, depicting the dragon in foiled gold graphics, and framed within a gold-lacquered casing. An accompanying booklet retells the famous story of St. George and the dragon.

St. George and the Sovereign St. George and the Sovereign Coin is struck in 22 karat fine gold. Vintage coin pays tribute to 150th anniversary of Aussie Sovereigns. $229
